A Rainy Day
To move or to stay?
Rainy days in an
Autumn haze,
Drip drops on
Terra cotta roof tops,
Subtle reflections of
Sweet imperfections.
Today I think I’ll stay.
Dario
This past weekend we took a pause from school work and decided to escape to Chianti and share a meal at one of Dario Cecchini’s restaurants, Solociccia. Dario carries on the legacy of the eighth generation butcher in a little town named Panzona and was featured on the Netflix documentary series, Chef’s Table. His philosophy is to respect creation and use every ounce, “to the very last tendon” of the animal. And I can say from first hand experience, every ounce is filled with love and absolute deliciousness.
My roommates and I were joined by our friend Richard, visiting from his travels in France. We made lunch reservations and shared our meal with a sweet Norwegian couple, a charming Florentine couple, and a Brazilian Chef in training, named Frank. Along with the wonderful company, the meal consisted of five meat dishes, Chianti wine and espresso and olive oil cake to top off the feast. Every bite was filled with an explosion of flavors and richness. Delightful company, beautiful weather, delicious food and wine: a perfect recipe for a wonderful day.
